Early life and family. Esha Deol was born in Bombay (present Mumbai) on 2 November 1981. She is the elder daughter of Bollywood actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini. She has a younger sister named Ahana. She is the half sister of actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol and the first cousin of actor Abhay Deol.

Previously, Ahana Deol was in news for being in a long-term relationship with actor Aditya Roy Kapur. It is said that Ahana and Aditya met during the fiming of Guzaarish (2009), where she assisted director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Prakash Kaur. Dharmendra's first marriage was to Prakash Kaur at the age of 19 in 1954, before he had entered films. He had two sons from this marriage, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, both successful film actors; and two daughters, Vijeeta and Ajeeta. His nephew Abhay Deol is also an actor.

Esha and Bharat tied the knot in 2012. They share two daughters – Radhya, born in 2017 and Miraya, born in 2019.
